Distance: 4.8 km. Duration: approximately 80 minutes at a moderate pace. This route circles the Herengracht canal, passing gabled houses, houseboats, and several bridge viewpoints. Terrain is predominantly flat with cobblestone sections near bridge crossings.
Koningsplein, south-west corner near the tram stop. Sessions begin at 10:00 on scheduled Saturdays.
Distance: 6.5 km. Duration: approximately 95 minutes. Follows the eastern bank of the Amstel river from De Pijp toward Ouderkerk direction. Includes tree-lined segments and open river views. Suitable for participants comfortable with longer distances.
Amstel Station, main exit facing the river. Sessions begin at 09:30 on scheduled Wednesdays.
Distance: 5.0 km. Duration: approximately 70 minutes. Explores the revitalised shipyard area in Amsterdam Noord, including street art, waterfront installations, and ferry connection context. Requires ferry travel from Centraal Station.
NDSM-werf ferry pier. Group meets after the 10:15 ferry arrival from Centraal on scheduled Sundays.
We categorise routes by pace and distance. Choose sessions that align with your personal comfort and mobility preferences.
Under 5 km, flat terrain, frequent pauses. Average walking speed of 3–4 km/h including stops. Ideal for participants who prefer shorter distances and extended commentary breaks.
5–7 km, mostly flat with occasional bridge inclines. Average speed of 4–5 km/h. Standard session format with balanced walking and informational pauses.
7 km and above, may include longer continuous segments. Average speed of 5–6 km/h. Designed for participants who enjoy longer urban walks without frequent stops.
All prices are listed in Euros and include applicable Dutch VAT (BTW). No hidden charges. Final price confirmed at booking.

A well-prepared participant enjoys a smoother session experience. We recommend the following items for all route types.
Sessions proceed in light rain. In cases of severe weather warnings, sessions are rescheduled and participants notified at least four hours before the start time. Check our Refund Policy for rescheduling terms.
All meeting points are selected for proximity to tram, metro, or bus connections. Detailed directions are sent upon session confirmation, including the nearest GVB stop and walking direction from the exit.
We ask participants to arrive five to ten minutes before the scheduled start. Guides begin the route briefing promptly at the listed time. Late arrivals may need to join the group at the first pause point, which is communicated via the contact number provided in your confirmation email.
Some routes include cobblestone surfaces, narrow sidewalks, and bridge stairs. Each route listing specifies accessibility considerations. Contact us before booking if you have specific mobility requirements.
Most routes finish at a different location from the start. End points are noted in the route description and typically have public transport connections for your return journey.
Our recurring sessions follow a rotating schedule. Specific dates are confirmed monthly and shared with registered participants.
Relaxed pace, 4.5 km through Plantage and Oostelijke Eilanden. Start: 18:30 from Artis main entrance area.
Moderate pace, 6.5 km along the Amstel. Start: 09:30 from Amstel Station.
Moderate pace, 4.8 km through the canal district. Start: 10:00 from Koningsplein.
Relaxed pace, 5.0 km through NDSM area. Start: 10:30 after ferry arrival.

Relaxed pace routes are suitable for families with children who can walk the listed distance. Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising children throughout the session. We do not provide childcare services.
Routes may be adjusted due to construction, events, or safety considerations. Registered participants receive updated route information before the session. Major changes trigger a notification at least 24 hours in advance.
